I now know there was a post about this about a year ago, but I'd like to know a little more just to see if people's opinions/views have changed.

This is concerning this news article.

I don't post in P&N ever, so try to leave the flames for another forum, please. I'd like your guys' answers since you all seem to be knowledgeable about politics. Anyways, do you think the US would ever at any point in the future become a Communist nation?

Thanks :)

This is the second thread on this topic. Here is the first one.

Thanks for understanding.

nope, we're way to greedy. If it did happen it would be forced on us by big corporations.

Western culture has too much emphasis on the individual to be compatible with commusim. The system inevitably becomes corrupt and fails. History has shown it over and over.

I got mixed feelings on this ruling for now....but I wonder now if this 80 year old hag will be forced off her farm property nearby me. She's holding up a beautiful planned housing community.

And knowing the developer...I will get one of the first choices on the better lots for my future home. :D

All three of her kids are waiting for her to croak.....they will all be instant millionaires. Sorta sad actually.

Read the stuff before getting all riled people.

Its only applicable if the said seizure will be for the public good. I highly doubt there would not be an uproar if the government just randomly started seizing homes.

I think eventually there will be new ideas brought to the table, and differant outlooks, and we'll find our happy medium between socialism, and capitalism; communism, and democracy. Some will say that's what we have, but not exactly, it's more what Europe has. Maybe I'm too optomistic, but hey what can ya do...

Stop whining so much. This really isn't that big a deal. It certainly isn't the slippery slope that the originally poster implied. OMG COMMUNISM!!!

In fact thats probably whats bugging me about this the most, not the ruling. What kind of retard posts something like that. Probably someone from OT.

Anand really needs to shut that hellhole down.

Isn't it really fascism you're talking about?

Not a chance, the traffic created by that forum is to good to pass up.

Yeah I think that's what he's describing, but his mythos requires that he hate the extreme left, and ignore and passively support the extreme right. So the overbearing Big Brother is a Commie, not a Fascist. They are both demons whose negatives outweigh any of their few benefits.

No. Communism is not coming, it flat out doesn't work.
People need motivation to work, and that comes with the prospect of bettering your life by earning more for yourself.
I think it is critical to help those who cannot help themselves should be given a hand, and those who benifit on the backs of others should compensate these people with financial help for education and healthcare.

The world is now a rainbow of socialism; see my post here, and will continue to be some form of this.

Ya, Fascism, IMO, would be a better fit in the sense that it is much closer to the Norm than Communism.

Both Fascism and Communism are quite similar as to their Supremacy of Control, but they are fundamentally different on Who holds that Control. In essence, Fascism is the Extreme Right's Mirror image of the Extreme Left's Communism. Both suck equally.
