I need a good 'Sunday worthy' movie. I have a pretty large DVD collection.

If you enjoyed "Big Lebowski", you *should* enjoy Clerks.

Clerks ranks up there as one of my all time favorite movies. It's a movie where the main actor is the dialog.

Clerks was awesome, I didn't like the Big Lebowski that much...
Kevin Smith is the man...

Well, considering it only took $30,000 to make and it grossed Millions of $$, I'd say it's a damn good movie.

excellent movie. Very witty dialogue. There is action if you watch the alternate ending, too =].

Dogma? That was a Kevin Smith movie? I love that movie! Maybe I'll have to check out Clerks or Chasing Amy.

check out clerks, then chasing amy, and then mallrats. Those 3 movies all were made to take place in one week in New Jersey, that was the beauty of it. Each movie had characters from othe movies, which i really like. Also, in clerks, they go to see the guys girlfriend who had died, that same funeral is talked about in the first 5 min of mallrats, when they decide not to go on their trip, since the chick had died.

I thought it sucked. The same guy made the Big Lebowski?

No wonder it sucked too. That speaks volumes.

The acting sucked but it is worth seeing. See it for the "Return of the Jedi contractors" scene, if anything.

Just don't go into Clerks with high expectations. It's an extremely low-budg film and it might disappoint you if you're expecting it to be like Mallrats or Dogma or Chasing Amy.

Don't get me wrong--I love it. It's just different and not as easily accessible as Smith's later films. But it sets everything up for the films to follow (you'll see lots of Clerks references in Smith's other movies) and is a must-see/must-own for Kevin Smith fans.

Chasing Amy is my favorite right now, but it changes from month to month.

Uhhhh, no. Totally different directors/writers. I compared the two because they were both dialog driven movies.
