Is Christmas looking like a real drag for you this year?

It's a bummer to be apart from your friends and family for Christmas. You see others sharing the cheer of the holidays and you feel sorry for yourself because you are alone. Life couldn't possibly get worse than this, or could it?

There are hundreds of thousands of American military personnel scattered all over the globe tonight who will not only miss out on being with their families and friends, many of them will be dodging bullets and bombs. Their lives can be altered or ended in an instant by circumstances beyond their control.

I wish them a Merry Christmas and hope they come home, one and all, alive and well.

Seconded! We owe them a lot of love and thanks.

It just doesn't feel very much like Christmas this year though

Yeah.

My cousin is in Tikrit (well, he *was*, I have no idea where he is now). He was apparently looking for Saddam. I don't know what he's doing now.

I saw someone commit suicide yesterday at our office building. I was at ground zero and he thought he'd "come down" to say hi. God I'll never get that sound out of my head and the way he moaned.

But they gotta see that sorta gore there daily so Merry Christmas to them for being strong soldiers!

Yes they lived for a few minutes after everything in their body went crunch. They weren't conscious or coherent really just moaning a little.

 Good grief! Good thing you didn't see it. Did you know him? I'd better cross out jumping as a way to end my life . . .

I got the impression that he not only saw it, but that the guy almost landed on him.

I believe people should have the right to end their own lives, but don't be rude and inconvenience (to put it mildly) others in the process.

Yes I saw it, no I didn't know him. Think he had some financial problems/might have learned of losing his job that day or something of that likes. Just a couple other people were around but they were far from me. I ran up and was like "AAAAAH DONT MOVE!" (doubt he could register that even) ran to the inside got them to 911 it.

Goddamn why do they have to pull that stuff on me. I couldn't even help him :\

They can be used for he/she as a singular term. There were not multiple.

For example "They said ..." "He said..."

I was really unsure of his sex after he jumped anyhow if you know what I mean.
