I wouldn't say it's dead, per se...

However I will say that it's getting mighty hard to find a woman who actually deserves it.

chivalry is dead because women like guys that act like assholes

someone is a little bitter :p

but its true

My Fiancee got with me because of the bad boy/asshole image, but I never see myself as that, and we are getting married.

I guess this why White men are attracted to Asian women.

Asian guys veer away from the chivalrous path -> white guy doesn't want to deal with domineering white women -> white guy scores Asian chick because Asian guy has no balls

Chivalry is dead. On one hand it was replaced by courtesy and respect which is much better than chivalry. Feminism can take some of the credit for this.

On the other hand chivalry was replaced by hopeless boobism and mean spirited stupidity which is worse. The boobs and mean people can claim credit for this descent.

The idea that modern men somehow can not hope to know how they should treat women is ridicuous. Start with respect and the rest follows.

I am not saying women should go back to the kitchen everyday with her pearls and apron, but there is a happy medium as well.

it is too bad. Chivalry was a wonderful thing.
PS, i am sure it is still out there, just in smaller quantities.

Yup. Bent over backwards for my ex like my grandfather taught me to live and got tired of her giving me so much bullshit about how she can do things on her own and doesn't need a man, blah blah blah. So I finally got fed up with it and told her off one night after she bitched at me for being a gentleman again. I told her to kiss my ass and that if she wanted something done from then on, she can do it her damn self.

What do I get?

CRYING. WAAAAA YOU DON'T LOVE ME ANYMORE AND YOU DON'T TREAT ME WELL ANYMORE BOOOHOOOHOOOO.

Eat sh|t, bitch.

Even that's not a guarantee. Some women don't want respect; they just want to be right. You can treat them with respect and you get accused of patronizing them. Hell, there's two of those types where I work.

i wouldn't say its dead but its definitely not common.

but whats the point in being chivalrous when it won't be appreciated anyway?
being polite and stuff doesn't get you anywhere unless you look like brad pitt, but then, is it really the act of being polite or the good looks?

i think we all know the answer to that question.
