I was conversing with someone on AIM the other day and they said that chappelle is racist towards white people so they dont watch his show. Anyone else feel this way? I dont think he is because its just comedy and he makes fun of himself as much as anyone.

No. If anything, I've seen him make more jokes about black people than anything. If you don't like racially-charged humor, that's one thing, but it doesn't make him racist.

He's a black comic, so that only way he knows how to get laughs is by a slew of black-inspired jokes, either for or against black people. This is the same with almost any black comedian these days (Chris Rock is the worst one).

But, I like the Chappelle show, and I'm white :D.

Well they definitely have freedom making fun of whites, whereas whites can't make fun of them.

Yes but I dont really see the harm in it. It might be different if he was like "KILL THE WHITE DEVIL" then said JK at the end.

You know that thing called slavery? It happened over 100 years ago. Blacks promote segregation, and discrimination everytime one pulls out the slavery card. At the time, it was socially acceptable to have slaves, now it isn't. Look at other civilizations, some believe it is still ok for one to own slaves. Now I am not saying it is right or wrong, but you cant related back to something when at the time it was the social norm.

He makes jokes of racial differences, but I wouldn't exactly call it racist.

Actually, you *can* say it's wrong b/c it is. It's nothing that should be held against people now, especially not as justification for further discrimination, but slavery itself is *wrong*. There's nothing un-PC in saying that.

Fight racism with racism. It's always worked in the past.

Everybody is a racist, some people are just more vocal about it than others.
Don't tell me that you have never prejudged someone based on their race.
When I go play basketball with big black people, I automatically think they are good. Thats reverse racism for you.

And as little as 50 years ago blacks couldn't drink from the same fountain, or had to sit at the back of the bus. Even when slavery officially ended it continued for a long time.
