Is cashing in multiple paychecks frowned upon?

I work for a research lab and I dont have direct deposit(which i really should have) so i basically have a bunch of pay checks sitting in my drawer that haven't been cashed. is it generally frowned upon to cash all my checks at once? Could this cause budget problems for the lab. Is this situation similar to a small company? I would have no problems spacing out my cashings, but obviously it'd be more convenient for me to cash it in all at once.

Unless your lab really sucks, it shouldnt be a problem. I did it all the time at a business that made less than 2 mil revenue yearly.

nope there is no problem for them, the only thing is from what a banker friend told me is the longer you don't cash those checks the more interest they get on that money.

Once I write a check, I deduct the amount from my account. I use the same attitude with my personal account and with my business. As such, there is no problem when you cash the checks so long as you don't let them expire. A well run business should have their books in order.

IF their books are balanced then it should not be a problem. If the check bounces then the company accountant will probably lose their job. Cash them all at once and do not loose sleep over it.

Just make sure the checks don't expire after 90 days or something or you'll have to have them reissued.

its not your problem.

they shouldnt care if or when you cash checks as they shouldnt be writing checks they don't have money for.

cashing them all at tone time wont hurt them... but not cashing check for long periods of time can cause some problem....
especially when they try to do end of fiscal year book balancing and find all these uncashed checks....

I know at my work, when people work on different projects throughout a pay period... there is different coding so that the money comes from differnt allocations, and all the allocations are closed at the end of the fiscal year, and new ones are created for the new years projects... so if you have an uncashed check from last year... once july 1st (beginning of the new fiscal year) hits, if it aint cashed... your screwed, because your allocation account is closed.
