Is capitalism essentially our state religion, even though it's not a religion and we don't have an official state religion?

no. the same constitution would work quite well with socialism.

It sure is. The motto of the US is 'The business of America is business.'

The whole country worships at the altar of money as can be seen by the rampant commercialism of the country.

nice topic. I would definitely agree, while admitting I'm just as guilty of this as the next guy. It's too bad... money certainly doesn't guarantee happiness and fulfillment, and in many cases it precludes it.

Nice socialist statement there. Considering it's coming from a Canadian, it seems rather hypocritical.

I'd say it is. Everyone seems to think, seem to be convinced that it's not the best system, but that it's still the best we've got. Why not try to improve it?

Only socialists think its not the best system. Id also like to point in the direction of India as a prime example of why socialism is wrong. Poverty in America would be royalty in India.
