Is Bose 321 System worth it?

Looking for a compact surround system looks like the Bose 321 is the best. Can be bought from 6th ave electronics for 691.00 about 300.00 less then other dealers

My mom's boss insists on getting a Bose stereo system so he's having me buy it for him sometime at half price (MIT students get 50% off all Bose products)


Even with 50% off, not sure if its worth it, opinions?

No. I'll go as far as to say that it is not "crap," but it qute ludicrously overpriced.

Ther are a variety of systems out there that all cost much less and will amaze you with their ouput.

Bose isn't horrible, but Goosemaster is right -- you can do a LOT better for the price. It'd be like installing a Sony Xplode system in your car. It works, but you could do so much better. Read this:

For 50% off I sure as hell would get a bose, though the quality is not impressive the bragging rights would be worth it.
