i think he really screwed up. in the Ali G show, which i have been a big fan of since it first came out in america, the funniest parts of borat were when the person he was talking to said something totally rediculous and stupid. (e.g. "i think they should start a season for jew hunting" or "i dont think the men with chocolate faces could afford to live here." or "i wish we could still have them as slaves", etc.

but, in the movie, it was all about what it shouldnt have been about. it was just silly humor making fun of unreal "kazakh" traditions. sure, it was funny, but really, it was pointless.

for example. what was the point of the part where he "accidentally" went to a bed and breakfast run by a jewish couple, and acted like he was scared sh*tless of them? the whole thing was just staged anyway.

the only thing i can figure, is that the movie was more directed towards the reactions and feelings on the audience, rather than an unsuspecting character. For me, it was just disappointing.

But, I am looking forward to the possibility of a tv show comprised of the hours of unshown footage that he filmed while making the movie. i heard it was a lot, and from the deleted scenes i have seen on youtube, these clips may be up to par with the Ali G show Borat.

You either "get him" or you don't. How can you not laugh at the preview of him talking with the ugly feminist, and the narration comes in with him saying, "I could not concentrate on what the old man was saying..."?

I laughed remembering that.

If you are Jewish, u might find it offensive...

I'm Jewish and I find it funny as hell

I'm just waiting for the day when people post bogus links that instead of linking to tub girl, goatsee, party of lemon etc...they link to flash video of the Borat/Azamat motel scene instead.

Another great one

If you don't laugh at these, Borat is probably just not your thing. To each his own I guess.

Borat's guide to country music and his guide to dating in america are freaking hilarious.

It's the ATOT tactic: take a subject that a lot of people seem to agree with and say you're for the OPPOSITE opinion, and then people will notice you.

Yep, that's a good one, that is.

I saw it with my jewish fried, his jewish parents, and his jewish friends. A few times it felt a little awkward.

expanderz your brainz.

:)

Borat is the low brow approach to the hi brow mind. Read 'brow' as intelligence not social status.

Jackass is the hi brow approach to the low brow mind.

I am somewhere in the middle I guess as I find them entertaining. No they are not winning any Oscars...still freaking funny.

I want to see the Borat movie, if I don't they gonna put petrol on my private light dem off. I like the firework, but not when I am the firework.

Different styles of comedy appeal to different people. Don't feel bad that you're not part of the majority.

it had it's moments but don't believe the "funniest ever" hype. 3.5/10 from me.... a disappointment.

I just saw it. Hilarious. 9/10. I just wish more comedies would come out that were half as funny as Borat.

THe commercial was pretty much the movie. The rest of the stuff was dumb and scripted, Im sure people have toilets and stuff, only ignorant people will laugh at that stuff. The best part of the movie:

THE JEW RACE, hahahahahahaha (deep breath) hahahahahahahahaha

That was good, jew jokes never die.
