No! The BMW brand is owned by the BMW group which also owns Mini. Two of my friends think Fords owns them!

Probably because Ford owns Land Rover and the land rover is/was using a BMW engine.

No! I've heard the story of the four interlocking rings, and that is not what it means. I don't have the time, but perhaps someone can search google for the answer.

Plus Vauxhall and Holden. They have a controlling interest in Daewoo. They are "partners" of Suzuki, Isuzu, Subaru, and Fiat. They used to own Lotus. They've collaborated with BMW, Toyota, and Renault. They're all over the place.

However, the most valuable part of the GM empire: they still own the Geo name. :p

Nope, you got it wrong. Mercedes owns Chrysler. Hence, Daimler in the name :)

Actually, I think it was a merge. Either way, one thing I'm 100% sure is that no american company or exec has any say in mercedes side of the business. The reverse is true, crysler does have a few german execs.

Ford owning BMW... the mere thought of it is enough to trigger my gag reflex. Good thing that won't happen in a million years.
