Those looking for the 3-series aren't considering a 5-series. The 530i is ungodly slow compared to the 335i. To even draw up the comparison suggests you're missing the point entirely. None of the cars you've mentioned come close in terms of performance.
There are plenty of cars you can get that have 300hp or more with almost the same ride for $30k or so.

Those come to mind in the 300HP arena.
