Is black the best car color?

Black is the worst cover since it shows imperfections the most - dirt, dents, scratches - and makes the vehicle the least visible to other drivers. White is the best color for reflecting away heat and for safety except in snow, where yellow or orange is best.

Like '70's Mopar orange? they don't offer those shades anymore but it was cool when they did..

I think brighter colors are safer, at least people notice you more. If it's enough to get someone's attention as they are pulling out then perhaps it may save a crash or two.

My wife has a black car...everyone hits that damn thing. The bumpers are trashed where people knock into it in parking lots or mower crews backup into it and she always parks far away from everyone. Of course no one ever leaves a note either.

Oh and apparently people like to key black cars too. I have seen many black cars with key marks along the sides here and there.
