I got this email regarding a trade:

"Thanks for your reply,I am happy to tell you that i will be paying through
bidpay and i will like to explain it if you have not use it this method before.
Bidpay is an online payment service whereby the buyer like me can use a major
credit/debit card to purchase a money order to be mailed directly to Seller.
bidpay money order is issued in US dollars and can be deposited into a bank
account. So as soon as i made a payment with my credit card, you will receive a
confirmation that my payment is approved."

The person is willing to pay more money than I asked for.... almost more than retail!
All the flags are going up.... you guys ever hear of Bidpay? Scam?

The question is not whether bidpay is a scam but is the person a scammer. The answer to THAT question is yes. So delete the email and move on.

it most likely is a scam. i would google it for more info. my friend was selling his dell 700m and some guy in nigeria offered him almost $100 more than what he paid. but the employee at the fedex office warned my friend about a bidpay scam and that was exactly what was happening.

Wish I hadn't replied in the first place... but he harvested my email already. Prepare for more spam.... ugh.

OTOH, I know HIS email works too! :cookie:

I got paid with something on ebay using bidpay, its legit. Just make sure you have a bidpay account and login and check to confirm payment. The scammers rely on faking a "confirmation" email and hoping you ship without checking bidpay.com.

bidpay is legit... however a lot of the people who use it are not, due to the fact that they convert payment into a delivered money order.
