Is Biden sexist?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...Sc7vFc&feature=related

I can understand why some would take it as sexist, on the other hand I understand what he is trying to say....assuming she would share the beliefs of mccain and bush would be a backwards step for women. not exactly the best choice of words though...

a better way to say it might have been "a backwards step for the country, not just women". to single out women is why I think some would take it as sexist

He says Palin as VP would be a step backwards for women because Palin campaigns against woman's rights.
If she has her way, abortion will be illegal 100% of the time. Compared to right now, that is a loss of woman's rights.

That said, I agree that Palin as VP would be several steps back for everybody.

Assuming the new definition of "sexist" is "saying anything other than praise about vice priesidential candidate, Sarah Palin" ... then , yes, I suppose so

After all, even Tina Fey is sexist now according to the McCain campaign

Yep, that's the new definition. Webster, Encyc. Britannia, Merriam, dictionary.com, they've all been updated.

If someone says "I'd never vote for a man like John McCain" are they anti-men?

Enough with the bs crap, faux outrage, faking offense.

I don't know, do you think the National Organization of Women is sexist? They are saying pretty much the same thing and are endorsing Obama today.

Ridiculous. These sexism claims are worse than when Hillary was in the race.

The personal attacks and slander are a hell of a lot worse too.
I vote for a lock because the OP lied in the topic.

Well look at it this way, how likely are we to elect another Texan for POTUS?

I would say nil for next 20 years.

Now, assuming we could possibly survive 4 years of VicePOTUS Palin, I think she will have so damaged the "female" brand, that no woman will be allowed anywhere near the White House for a very long time.

So I guess that's sexist....in the same manner that point #1 is Texism.

"Sexist" seems to be the Republicans' catch-all, fix-all immunization label for any criticism leveled by anyone about Palin. A prime example came, yesterday, from McCain mouthpiece, fired former HP CEO, Carly Fiorina, an owner/operator of her own set of Y chromosomes, who couldn't find anything more positive to say about the McCain platform than to call Tina Fey's portrayal of Palin on Saturday Night Live "sexist."

Get over it. Palin's gender is not what makes her unfit to be Vice President, let alone to sit a heartbeat away from the Presidency. Like McCain, her uninformed, idiotic support for continuing the Bushwhackos' failed domestic and foreign policies, including their illegal, immoral war in Iraq and failed economic policies are.

For the same reasons women should receive equal respect and equal pay for equal performance in the workplace, Palin's gender is not an excuse from, or a shield against, her failure to measure up to the same criteria and standards to which we should hold ANY candidate for high public office.

Biden is right. McCain is the one who opposes the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, the only currently pending legislation to address the issue of equal pay on the grounds that it would "only serve to fatten the pockets of trial lawyers." As his running mate, we must assume Palin supports that view, as well as her own opposition to women's reproductive rights and other women's issues.

Nah, not sexist just trying to scare women voters into not voting for a women.

Better than Cheney threatening to bomb us if we voted for the wrong party

At least in Palin shoots you in the face you know she meant too.

At least we can finally start moving past stuff like this now that the feminism movement is dead.

The answer is no.

I will also add that I know one woman who has expressed to me that she views Palin becoming VP as an embarrassment for women. She was planning on voting for McCain until Palin was picked.

palin is an extremist idiot, and fiorina almost brought hp to its knees and is taught in business textbooks as one of the worst CEO's ever, and these two people have huge positions in mccain's campaign... sexist? no just truth

Palin is a step backwards for all politically progressive minded women AND any non-white woman in general. She's a model for the religious nutjobs down in the south that pump their chests with their bibles and only vote for one issue candidates. Throwing a vote for McCain-Palin over abortion as the sole reason is the most ignorant thing anyone could do. Hey, bible toting dumbasses, abortion is a state issue. Your one issue platform doesn't belong in the national election.

Nice try, but no.

Just trying to scare women into not voting for this particular woman.
