I've just had this thought: is discussing computers, and the components considered to be "nerdy" in the US? (here, it isnt). Im not talking about fiery discussions, like what CPU is the best - thats waaay beyond me. Cuz, i disnt pay much attention to it before (i go to this forum every morning, when i wake up and log on to ICQ so me and my buds conclude our daily go-out plan or not, and in the evening fter shower) until i've encoutered this:
I've posted about nVidia vs. Ati thread, making fun of 5900 and saying that Radeon's aa and af are the best. So, this fool replies, saying something about me wanting to pick uyp a fight (?????!!! on the mofin intenret???!), and being a flamer. Also he told me to go "TF away". I, am a person of high social norms, and I really dislike this. It insulted not just my manhood, but my honor, which makes me uneasy.
So i am asking people on this forum (to basically decide whether im gonna come here again or not) - is being on this forum cosidered to be "looserish" or "nerdy"? Cuz when im being attacked or insulted over the internet, i regard that as EXTREME nerdiness, which i can barely tolerate. Is it so?
