whats with all the exotic brands. Drink Miller Genuine Draft. It's plain and simple and good. I don't like fancy beer either.

If you start with complicated beers they could ruin it for you. Start with watered down beers like Bud, or MGD, beers like those are easy to drink and dont have much taste, and you can just work your way up from there.

I've been drinking beer for over 4 years now, from light to dark, from plenty of different countries, and I'll still continue to try different types of beer, but I still don't really enjoy the taste.

Get some 4 liter mini-keg cans of German bier and drink with friends. Open them with an old fashioned beer opener. You will acquire a taste.

yes
as a child you have a preference for sweet stuff, and it takes time to get used to the bitter taste of beer. Personally I like the darker malty types of beer, they're like dark bitter chocolate. Also it's a good idea to eat salty food as it increase your thirst and make sure your beer is really cold, until you like the taste better.

Yeah...I'll occasionally drink a beer when I go out but I don't really like it.

Same with tea and coffee...only reason I drink it is for the caffeine.

Yes, it is an acquired taste. I only like brands that don't taste like anything, but beer fills me up, gets me sick and still doesn't get me drunk. (I only drink at parties). I prefer straight liquor.

What an odd choice of first beers. There are several ways to start with beer

1. Start with a good old american beer like Bud/Miller/Coors and keep on drinking

2. Start with your local brew, examples: Fat Tire in Colorado, Shiner in TX, Abita in Louisiana etc...

3. Start with a decent German brew like Warsteiner, Paulaner

Don't judge beer on Heineken. Just because it appears to be a high-end beer from advertising and a fancy bottle, doesn't make it so.

Heineken is terrible.

I've tried:
Heineken
TsingTao
White Soju
Sake
Martell
Malibu

They're all too bitter. I would like Malibu more if the initial taste wasn't so sweet. That and the after taste doesn't mix too well for me. Should I just stick with soda or keep experimenting with different brands?

quit drinking terrible beers. Go get a good heff or almost anything from belgium.

same here. i cant stand most liquers... beer, wine, chardonnay, rum..

all taste awful to me. :(

mixed drinks with bases are okay though. like margarita's, pina colada's, etc. and something like bailey's irish creme is good too.

The good taste comes from the associated pleasure of the alcohol.

When you taste beer, your brain knows that the buzz feeling is coming.

Yeah, I'd say it is... but it's not too tough to acquire. I acquired it in college. We'd start with the "good stuff" (Coors Light) then when we got a buzz we'd switch to Bud Light (give me a break, I was poor!). Now I actually enjoy the taste of cheap American beer.

Weird...Coors was always way cheaper than Bud back when I was in school.

Try a Belgian Kriek or Framboisse.
