That movie is so funny. I saw Battle Royale 2... they tried to do a plot in that movie rather than random violence and failed miserably.

Definitely worth it. Watch it with a few of your buddies so you can laugh about how you would win if the game really existed.

Honestly, READ THE NOVEL

I heard great things about the movie, but when i saw it after the novel it was a disappointment because the book was fvcking AMAZING [then again, i had a lot of bloodlust at the time and this book was the perfect cure]

Its a good movie, but if you read the novel before it, you'll get about 100x more in depth action, gore, relationship developements, and ending. i kid you not, 100 times better.

I wouldn't buy it - you'll pay Japanese import prices for a Chinese pirate. Hmmm ... I just looked at the Amazon link on IMDB, and it was released in the US in 2004? (adds to cart) $20 is a little steep unless you know you like that sort of movie.

I've heard that it's pretty tame compared to Suicide Club, Ichi the Killer, and Audition (I haven't seen these 3 movies). I thought that Old Boy was slightly more disturbing, but the movies aren't really comparable.

I would completely OWN with the crossbow - do what the fat kid did, but coat the bolts with feces first.

The guys I watched it with were a little disturbed at the helpful tips I kept yelling at the characters (e.g. "kill her first, she'll still be warm!") ... they eventually said that they didn't want to be in a Battle Royale with me. :evil:

I saw the movie first, then read the book a while later. I think the movie would be less enjoyable having read the book first. Some of the things in the book are so over the top, though - particularly when Shuya does that thing with the grenade.

I wouldn't buy it. Instead, sign up to Netflix for the same price and rent 10+ more movies that you're not sure about. It was an entertaining movie, but not worth it for more than $10.
