Is Asus CUV4X CPU temp probe accurate?

I'm using an overclocked Celeron II 566 overclocked to 952MHz with a CPU temp of 44C under full load. Asus Probe program reports that the CPU temp is 44C under full load, but it crashes consistently after about 30 minutes of full stress. 44C seems alright since I have the Golden Orb and thermal paste. Is the Asus Probe program accurate?
