As the title states .. im looking to regrease the chipset on my NF3 as i still have some AS5 lying around .. what do you think yay or nay ???

and yes i know it is capacitive .. but will it be safe ??

Just a word of caution, taken from the AS website:

While much safer than electrically conductive silver and copper greases, Arctic Silver 5 should be kept away from electrical traces, pins, and leads. While it is not electrically conductive, the compound is very slightly capacitive and could potentially cause problems if it bridges two close-proximity electrical paths.

Yeah, I put AS5 on my NB too. No problem.

you have to use the old razor technique dont you ??

No, I did it on my NF7-S. Just poped off the crappy little NB HS+F and used a piece of plastic cut off of a CPU retail box to spread it.

I applied some AS to my Neo 2 and it really didn't help my HTT at all.. maybe 2mhz..

🙁

I think a better chipset cooler would help even more..

Quite a few here..

I would kill for Duvie's board and 350mhz HTT..

This chip definitely has 2.9ghz in it..

cheers for the link .. i am most definitely going to upgrade this (my one at the moment is just too noisey)

if you was able to reach 2.9Ghz with that chip that would truly be kingly 😉 (i mean 1.1Ghz OC that would be immense) !!!

Well considering I am rock stable @ 1.50-1.51v even if I had to put 1.6v through it ( which i dont think it would need ) 2.9 is possible..

I guess I'll never know on this board though..

😛

For application of thermal paste: wrap a (clean) cellophane sandwich bag around your index finger, pull it tight so you have good surface control, and spread the paste with your finger. This tactile method allows you to achieve great results and optimum cooling because you can "feel" the thickness being applied.
