You see no correlation at all between people who buy things without looking at the price tag and how having a state full of people like that causes uncontrolled spending sprees? And then you try and connect the state of Californias government debt to them buying macbooks? Your reasoning is seriously messed up and borderline retarded.
Everything under the hood is good, but the GUI is totally fucked just for the sake of being different. Windows and various Linux desktops all have buttons that make a window full screen; this is the standard because it's useful and everyone likes it. Jobs is big on being a unique little snowflake, so his operating system can't do this. If you want the window full screen, go kill yourself. This is Mac OS, and we don't do full screen around here. For all the "work" that went into 10 over the years, all they have truly accomplished was making it look better. Sure they've added tons of 'features' that helped Mac OS from sliding into obscurity, but it is still inferior to other OSs.
Well if he did any thinking he might have noticed his comment about my post was incorrect.

But hey, it sure does look better.
Mac is no different that Linux except for a few features and dedicated hardware...
That is what is so laughable.
All of the "geeks" here who love to tout Linux also love to slam OS X.
Its quite hilarious.

Your argument is as follows:
People buy expensive shit (Aka Apple products) = why the govt of California is in major debt
see absolutely no correlation between these two things. There is no way you could ever make a correlation between these two things. Its a huge, no wait, GIGANTIC leap in logic you are making there.
Let's see other leaps of faith made by my logic. USA is filled with a large number of religious crazy people, so my logic would state that USA has a lot of fucked up religious government policies..... such as abstinence-only education and a federal ban on funding stem cell research as well as attempting to pass a constitution amendment to ban gay marriage. Oh look at that, Shawn is right again. People behave in government exactly the same way they behave outside of government?? No shit. I didn't think I would actually need to explain this to anyone.
The ironic thing is that government derives that authority from godless "progressive" policies.
Again, you're trying to put words in my mouth and argue a point I never stated. I never said there wasn't a huge improvement from 9 to 10. The point you're missing is that even with all those improvements, it's still garbage. They can improve it to the best of their ability and make it the best Mac OS ever, but that doesn't mean it is a good OS.
Making huge improvements to a terrible product doesn't make it a good one.
lol classic. wwybywb?Translation: I can't play games very well on a mac therefore it sucks.
Care to enlighten us on why MacOSX is so terrible, noob?
lol classic. wwybywb?
I'm not going to bother arguing with a returning banned member/mac zealot. 6 of your 7 posts here are on the subject of Apple. In other words, you can't explain why MacOSX sucks. That's what I figured.

Gotta give credit to Steve. He knows how to sell things to idiots.Look at the new 11.6" Macbook Air. It has extremely old specs for a $1k machine.
Look at the new 11.6" Macbook Air. It has extremely old specs for a $1k machine.
Show me a comparable machine that is under 2.3lbs, .1" to .6" thick, and has a battery life of 5 hours.
The fact of the matter is people think this machines is targeted at a segment of the population that needs a lot of battery and portability but not a lot of horsepower.
The average letters and arts student needs what, Word, email and the internet?
This laptop is perfect.
The average person in business needs what, Word, email, web apps, excel, and the internet?
This laptop is perfect.
The average user in both segments need battery and portability, not the means to play high end games on the road.
what about this?
http://campuslife.asus.com/product/detail/21
for half the price you'll have nearly the same experience on all the things listed. Yes, it isn't as light or stylish as the mac air, but it can do all the things you just listed at a lower price.
Heck even this one
http://campuslife.asus.com/product/detail/17
Would have about the same experience for the stuff you listed while having a much longer battery life and at about 1/3 the price. The macbook air isn't perfect for any of those situations you listed above because, honestly, for every one of them a cheaper netbook will work just as well.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm sure there is probably a group of people (besides mac enthusiasts) that this exact mix of components makes a lot of sense. I just don't agree that it is the segment you pointed out. This thing is too fast and expensive to really qualify as a netbook, and too slow to qualify as a laptop. It is almost like they were targeting the market right between netbook and notebook. Something that was fastish and small.
