People still watch SNL? Hillary watches SNL? Damn, she deserves to lose just for that!

Sorry, sport, read the rules. I'm posting from my private account.

Sadly, I'm experiencing your minor league douchedom on my own time. :p

And Obama isn't "the lesser of 3 evils."

No one is.

No one can be.

This whole argument over the use of the word "histrionic" - a word I learned in middle school - is not even germane to the conversation concerning the debate. I suppose using the word might be viewed as superfluous by some.

From the reports I'm reading this morning and hearing on the radio, she did pretty well but in the end it won't change much as the loon presence of the primarys has selected BHO as the antiwar candidate and the anti hillary sentiment among some media outlets will try to minimize her efforts.

Oh, by that statement I take it HRC didn't really make a mark and her supporters are fuming about her horrible campaign and impending loss.

I tried to watch the stream but it was awful and choppy. CNN's netcast >>>>>>>> MSNBC's. WTF, MS can't even stream debates properly... sad. CNN's stream was flawless and even had nice touches of having web exclusive content during commercials rather than just a splash screen.

From what I heard Obama did well, HRC limited herself to one canned line of mock outrage to look herself petty (SNL:roll:.)

Obama skated disaster w/ the Farrakan question, but pulled it out well. HRC prolly actually helped him strengthen his point by her attempt to stick him. No doubt some will make desperate attempts to make hay tho. I like Obama, but sometimes he talks like a professor and makes a circular path to his point. He needs to learn to be more direct or he's going to be misunderstood and cause him himself controversy.

===> Why are questions about Obama's church even relevant anyway? Who cares what some numbnut in his church thinks (not Farrakan, but the clergy who supported Farrakan which gave this issue some heat).
-I don't remember moderators asking Catholic candidates if they were pedophiles bc some priests raped boys and some cardinals covered it up.
-For all the Mormon questions about Romney, no one really asked him about it (like how they collect the birth & certificates of anyone they can get to re-baptize them Mormon, even post-mortem w/o consent.) I think he got some inappropriate softball about polygamy that the LDS church disavowed 100 yrs ago. All these issues are irrelevant unless the candidates are actually campaigning on them.

Agreed. So much is made of his speech giving ability, but at heart I think he's just a wonk who hasn't learned to speak in sound bite yet.

Nice herring their with the church discussion.

When the Obamabots clamor that his lack of any political experience would be made up for by the people he surrounds himself with to get good advice, I'd be worried when one of those that he has kept close to him, right up till the point where he started his presidential campaign, appears in the group photo wearing a "we love the black panthers" tshirt.

Uh... she didn't do 'pretty well'... she fell for so many traps, it's astonishing she didn't run from the stage crying. Plus her attacks on Obama, Obama easily deflected them and made Hilldabeast look foolish.

I see there is a little bit of diversity of opinion about the debates. But with less than a week to go until the Ohio and Texas votes, these debates were Hillary's last for free chance to plant doubts about Obama in the voters minds.

And doubts are like seed because they can grow and be later watered by subsequent attack adds. And of course the same can be said about Obama planting doubts about Hillary.

But the real jury here will be the voters in Ohio and Texas still sitting on the fence. Those voters will either carry Texas and Ohio for Hillary or Hillary may well be forced to withdraw. We will only know on March 5 and not much else before.

I would have liked to see the Putin Successor question directed first to Obama. Russert threw that in as a "what do you know about foreign events" and was hoping to trip them up. Unfortunately, Hillary knew every single thing about the guy and spoke at great length about him, and all Obama had to do was say, "Hillary had it right", and then repeated a few things she just said, and then veered off onto other topics. If he had gone first I think we'd have seen some serious avoidance.

I did cringe however during her SNL whine, and when Obama owned her on the denounce&reject. She seemed pretty sure he was going to refuse to "reject" and she lost the bet.

Russert said after the debate that he threw that question about Russia out there for anyone to answer to. Hillary grabbed it, contradicting her previous complaint that she always gets the question first.

I agree with Phokus, though I must add that I only saw the last half.

I found Obama very impressive, Hillary not so.

Shortly after tuning in Obama got some question first (can't remember which it was ATM), I recall pointing out to my wife how Obama was cleverly & skillfully answering the question to minimize Hillary's response points, cutting off many avenues she might pursue to make him look bad. My wife was impressed with how straight forward he answered, instead of talking "around" the question to just say what he wanted (as most polititions seem to do).

While listening to the post-debate analysis I thought it funny Hillary was complaining about getting questions first. Obama schooled her on how to use that to your advantage.

Overall, I saw Obama handle "hardball" or "gotcha" questions in such an unflappable and straightforward way I was very impressed. No so for Hillary.

In the part of the debate I watched, she seemed badly out classed. She didn't even seem to be in the same league as Obama. She's good, but it ain't close in my estimation.

Obama's performance gives me a lot of confidence in how he may manage discussions with other leaders, particularly the hostile type (e.g., Achmadinejad etc)

The general impression seems to me, that this debate was a disaster for Hillary.
