xm's programming has been lacking as of late. we're adding sirius to my g/f's car in a bit, but right now i can't comment on sirius.

my friends have XM, and i have sirius through my satellite tv provider (dish network) and i must say Sirius seems to be better. They have more variety. XM seems to have a lot of stations that play mostly the same stuff.

Just got a letter in the mail saying that my $9 a month bill just turned into $12 a month. Thats not that much but it still sucks.

Same. I recently drove 11 hours straight, and RawDog kept me alive for a good portion of it.

Is it true that XM's signal is better quality and that you can get better reception from XM than sirius? I'm trying to choose between the two.

XM has just announced a rate increase, but it's only on the primary radio. Family plan radios are still $6.99, plus they are throwing in XM Online for free. That was $3.99.

Given that I was considering XM Online and I have two radios, I'm not unhappy with the increase. You can also pay the year in advance and stay at the current rate.

I'm unhappy with the rate increase that XM hit me with. They're forcing internet radio down my gut, and I don't like it.

the free XM preview that came with my car expires in 2 weeks...

not worth paying for in my opinion...even though it was 'commercial free', there were sure alot of plugs about other XM programming...

I have Sirius and I like it a lot. The DJs aren't intrusive and some of them are fun to listen to when they come on occasion. When they do come on it's usually to give out some info on a band (tours, etc.) and perhaps the next few songs. Of all the DJs on Sirius I like Madison the most :)

agreed, I have sirius through dish networks, and I have XM in my car (free preview for new car buyers). And I have to say XM leaves much to be desired compaired to sirus. The main difference is that Sirius is much better organized with their channel themes compaired to XM. Like XM has best of the 70's 80's 90's, and sirius has best of 80's new wave, 80's alternative, 80's hair bands etc. I actually want to see if I can remove XM from my acrua and put in Sirus.

There is a 3-day trial you can listen to, but there is more in the unit than what they stream.
