I've been taking Paxil CR 25 mg for about a year now. I always feel sleepy during the day and don't have any motivation. I've been taking it in the morning? Does anyone take it before they go to bed, and if so does this stop the sleepiness during the day? Thanks for any help! Please no comments about how Paxil or other medications suck.

I take it at night and I do sometimes get sleepy during the day, but it doesn't usually effect my work, however, I usually sleep all saturday, I dunno why, i just keep sleeping. The day sleepiness sometimes will come for a few days, then i'll be fine for months, or even longer before it occurs again.

I've been on it for about 3 yrs, same dose.

Whoa I have the same problem (drowsiness and lack of motivation if boss man isn't watching me). I'd also like to hear any opinions on Altovis too.

Edit: Oh, you think the Paxil is causing the drowsiness. Is Paxil an anti-depressant like Zoloft?

The lack of motivation sucks. What dosage are you guys on and is it CR or regular Paxil?

Do you take it before you go to bed and what dosage of CR are you on?

Give your doctor a call, he can tell you if its alright to try taking it at night.

That's one of the major side effects of most SSRIs. I take Lexapro in the morning and I get very fatigued througout the day. Its an annoying side effect.

I don't see why not, but I'm not sure it will really make that much of a differnce, as we are only talking about an 6 to 8 hour difference, and the pill is supposed to last for 12 in your system.

How well does the Paxil work for you besides the side effect you listed? AFAIK, and from my experience taking it, it doesn't matter what time you take it, it has the same effect. Are you taking it for depression or anxiety or the combo if I may ask? You may want to look into other options. Paxil can be one of the nastier ones out there.

I have been on 40 mg of Paxil for 3 years and it took a couple of years for the tired feelings to go away.

I took it for years. always at night, cause it made me tired.

It took me almost eight months to wean myself off and I dont take anything now. I still get my moods, but I can deal with them and no longer spend most of my time feeling like I am underwater.

:)

I'm taking it for panic disorder, depression, social anxiety disorder, and a slight case of PTSD. Thats really the only side effects I have. I admit, though, it has changed me as a person. I'm not as emotional as I used to be, I don't think stupid thoughts anymore, I'm just different. Paxil has worked wonders for the panic disorder. Lately though, along with the sleepiness and the lack of motivation, I've been feeling a little depressed. I'm a little reluctant to change to anyother pill.
