Is anyone still playing EverQuest?

the orginal? are they still makeing expansion packs for it?

i lost interest in 2 after desert of flames.

Broadband wasn't available here in Everquest's heyday. Only MMO I ever played was guildwars, and I quite enjoyed it.

Guild Wars isn't an MMO.

Close enough. It may be instance-based for missions but you CAN meet up with friends from anywhere across the world to party/PvP, unlike WoW where you'd have to reroll on a different server... the PvP is the focus of the gameplay anyways.

I never got to play everquest as i didn't have broadband till i hit college in 04.

EverQuest played just fine on a 56k. In fact, I had to replace my Win Modem because EQ used so many resources I would get random disconnects. Once I got a nice hardware based modem in my computer it was smooth sailing... many 36+ hour nights on that game!

Quit about 3 years ago, and will never pay Sony/SOE another penny. Actually I vowed not to make Sony any more money long before I started EQ, but at the time I didn't realize they owned Verant.
