Is anyone planning on a GTX 480 F@H rig?

The $380 Fermi 470 loosk rather appealing. I'm waiting to see reviews of it in action, crunching, and when it's actually available in stores before even considering it though.

Well a lowly GTX260 Core 216 does 8k. I would not doubt it would do 20k with ease.

I'm sure it would do a LOT more if folding team ever puts out a new core for program. Then even the ATI cards might actually do some folding worth it. hehe

Should be great after the price comes down.

I've hear unverified reports of 20,000ppd+ from one card.

One computer with an OCed eight thread i7 running -bigadv and one of these would do about 45,000 ppd then!

How many ppd will a 285 do?
My 275 gets about 9,000 ppd.

I'm thinking about 2 or 3 of them.
I'd get only one and use the other money for electricity to run the box for two or three years! 😉

I'm getting one, but i haven't decided whether it's the 470 or the 480 (and how much money I have at the time).

But GLeeM... what's the point of having one when you could afford 3... and pay for electricity in a few years! 😛... (looks at signature and feels like a trend is forming... I should be more active)

Will probably grab a single GTX 470 for my secondary rig and start using that for any gaming. The two GTX 260s in the current main rig work great for f@h though, don't see any real reason to upset the boat.

I'm going to snag a GTX 470 to fold on, currently folding on two 5770s and then have read a few guides to run PHYSX with ATI cards and going to try to slap a GTS 250. But want to get a single GTX 470 for simplicity sake.

Hey, when somebody has one installed and running, would you mind testing my PrimeGrid CUDA app for me? The short test shouldn't take more than a few seconds; the long test not more than a few minutes.
