So I'm sitting here "listening" to Al Franken's new "show" on the Liberal "had to buy stations to air us" Air America Network, and boy is this some dry stuff. Who is that lady that is his co-host? She has a rather annoying voice...not that Franken has a voice that begs to be heard either.:p Anyway - so far I haven't heard much except them trying to Bash Rumsfeld and that silly Ann Coulter bit(they locked her in the greenroom) - hehe funny stuff there
rolleye.gif
Oh and they had Ben Stein on for about 30 seconds.

Way to knock em dead Franken:p

I knew it would be a lame show.

Esp. if they came out of the blocks trying to smear the Bush administration instead of sticking to facts. There's way too much rhetoric and hot air coming out of the mouths of Limbaugh and Hannity as it is.

They need to learn the key to a successful radio show, is to take Three Oxycotin before each show!:D

No argument here. I pretty much knew this show would be a non-starter. Feh.

When are they going to have DMC as a guest host? He knows the truth and people listen when he talks.

Facts are boring. "Creative journalism" sells. Kinda like "sports entertainment."

Hehe - that would be entertaining:p But alas Rush is away from the golden microphone today through Friday. He's at a charity fundraiser...or a Cigar seminar to some;)

CkG

EDIT - Make sure to tune into Rush's show on Friday - Walter Williams is guest hosting. Walt knows his stuff.:)

Imagine a world with plain, vanilla news...and YOU do the thinking. Uh, naw, that wouldn't work in America.

Rather, at the rate we are going these talk/opinion/news/mortal combat shows, will probably have to up the ante to compete with each other. Let's see, they could:

1. "Off" SH live on Kalamity and Conehead;
2. Or, have live sex between consenting anchors on NPR;
3. Al Franken wrestles Bill O'Reilly on Smear Factor;
4. Monica tells all and blows Bush live in front of Tim Russert;
5. Animal rights activists pour the blood of select Republican "DONORS" on Rummy's head on Lou Dobbs;
6. California stages a real 9.9 earthquake during Arnold's climax with his Kennedy Girl live on CBS evening news.

But, network execs will worry that even that fare will be too tame to hold the attention of the barbarian hordes lusting for ever more repulsive and violent public entertainment.

Looks like Air America is displacing Chinese and Korean programming in the Bay Area

Meanwhile, in New York:

Starting tomorrow, WLIB will scrap its daytime Caribbean programming and become the New York home for Air America Radio, the new, liberal talk-radio network.

[...]

But for some listeners, the melodic sounds of Caribbean music are all they want to hear.

Carl Tyndale, 37, has listened to WLIB for more than 17 years. He remembers when it was mostly talk radio on Caribbean issues and was surprised to hear of the format change.

"Where are we going to find Caribbean music now?"

Al Franken and Air America: "Silencing Minorities Since 2004!"

Wasn't WNTD 950 AM (Chicago) a Spanish station?

But for the record- I really don't think there was a racial motive but about half of the stations they bought seem to have been minority ones. *shrugs*

I don't know about WNTD and honestly don't believe there is a racial motive involved either. Maybe these stations are all they could catch?
