I thought it was SKAL, but the A has a thing over it. Americanized it would be skoal.

Not Norwegian, but Swedish (close enough). It's spelled Skål. I can't help you with your Word problem. Can't you just use charmap and cut and paste the correct characters? Oh, and I think Norway's independence day is May 17 (suttonde maj ;)), not May 23.

I think you are right.
Oh well, the invitations are sent out and the date we are celebrating it is May 23.
I doubt any American will now the difference.
Were it me, I would have an entire reaindeer flown in and cooked, but my parents are not so hardcore.
