I need some help with a song I'm making... so if anyone knows anything about producing, please give me some input.

Well, how about -- any methods to remove the instrumental from a song?
How about you actually invest the money into purchasing the individual tracks that are readily available in most production equipment catalogs and stores.Originally posted by: ItmPls

Or you could actually BE A PRODUCER and make your OWN samples/loops/clips.
What you're trying to do is steal someone elses sample. You can generally single it out but not enough to track it.

No.
What I'm trying to do, is to rip the lines "The city never sleeps, full of villains and creeps" from Nas's New York State of Mind, and use his voice as the chorus in my song.
Nas used Rakim's Voice (New York State of Mind)
Jay-Z used Nas's Voice (Dead Presidents 2)
In their choruses...

I am sure they had expressed permission from Rakim/Nas.
You don't, you are stealing it.

STFU and get off this guy's back.
i'm sure he's making the song for his own personal use, and i'm sure if he later goes and sells this main stream then he will get the rights to do so.
he's just asking for some help on how to do something, sheesh. i'm sure you've never had one MP3 on your hard drive that you didn't pay to own, or never dl'ed an episode or movie off the internet somewhere, or burnt a CD you borrowed from a friend Mr. Perfect.
