Is anyone good with the SMGs and stuff in Counterstrike?

I used to play a lot of CS a long time ago and I always used the Mp5 or another SMG and pwned everyone! The weapons underwent changes are the betas progressed but I always had the best luck with SMGs. But now today and yesterday I played and was just getting wrecked by everyone with (usually) the m4 or ak. Don't see the shotties get much use either.

My bro, (Lord Maul) tears up with the shotty. The pump one. Its really sad. He played in this clan, and one of the guys used nothing but the Deagle. They fcuked me over so many times it not even funny.

just aim for the head and you should be fine. i only use mp5 on the 2nd round of a match. after that it's a rifle or saving up for one.

The SMGs suck now. It takes 8-10 shots in the body to kill a guy. I've come up behind someone and full autoed into them and they've had time to turn around and cap me with 2-3 shots from an ak.

The only decent SMG I find is the P90, and only because it has a large clip. I like to flash through a door and just spray like mad when I rush through. It works well usually. Also it's good because when the guy is reaching for his handgun, you still have 20 rounds in your primary left before you have to go to your secondary.

Unfortuneately, with the addition of the galil and famas in 1.6, SMGs are pretty much useless. The galil is only slightly more expensive than any SMG, holds more rounds than all but the P90, and is much more powerful.

Shottys don't get used much at all anymore either (I've started a little comeback thing with the pump shotty and it's oh so fun), mainly because the popular maps are all medium/long range combat ones.

SMGs still work, but you must aim for the head. Aiming for the body takes too little damage. The weapons of choice noawadays are the rifles M4 and AK.

well, i think i only played from the start of 1.3..old enough school for me, thats like 2-3 years isnt it? anyway. bunny hopping with a deagle was way too good back then

Hmm yup I just played another round and get wrecked by all the rifles! :disgust: Oh well and I don't seem to do well with rifles I think I'll just stick to the mp5 it used to really be good. The p90 was god at one point but it gets changed in new versions but it's decent to use still.

I use the MP5 when I don't have enough money for anything else.. Aim for the upper torso and hope it's small kick lets a bullet into the head. I've seen it where I could fire 8-9 bullets into someone, and I'd die from 2-3 from their AK/M4A1..

I hate playing any map with distance though.. it eventually ends up becomming an AWP fest to no end..

mp5 is good, my fav gun is the ak so I usually go terrorist, but i sometimes go mp5/deagle which seems to work pretty well.

mp5 is still good, just straf a lot and burst fire. Also, use the mac10 if you get the chance.

i dunno, but from watching others play, they are extremely good with headshots now.

MAn - I was playing that during the beta days - I think I started at .3x and stopped around retail 1.0. The AWM was an AWP that owned back then. I believe burst firing (click firing w/ the mouse) w/ the M4 and AK are probably the best for these newer versions.
