Is anyone else like me, play better in 800x600 then playing at a higher resolution? (first person shooter games)

I don't know why... For some reason I just started playing in 800x600 again and notice my frag rate higher in both counter-strike and quake 3. I was getting head shots like crazy with an AK47. Also, in Corkscrew Quake3 Instagib my hit ratio was a lot higher then my average...

Before my Radeon/GTS I used to always play in low resolutions like 640x480 and 800x600 on my TNT 1. Anyone else perfer lower resolutions when their system can easily handle higher resolutions ? :)

For some, it isn't a choice. I own the revered Riva TNT (oh I know it is pre-jura) so UT won't really do me any good in anything above 800x600. All will change soon and I am certain 800x600 will be a trip back in nostalgia

My computer cant handle anything higher than 800X600. I tried to go down to 640X480, but that really screwed up my game.

I have a Riva TNT now, so 800x600 is about it for me. However, demenion, probably the reason is that in higher resolutions there is more lag for you, and thus things dont go quite where you're pointing them.

To me 1024x768, but it isnt so much the resolution as it is, this is just what I am used to. Any little variance in my normal setup throws my game off for awhile, a new mouse, keyboard, monitor, video card, etc. I am still ok when it happens, just not at the top of my game.

On my old system I used to run at 512x384 and on SOME games I could "crank it up" to 640x480 and man was it beautiful.

Nowadays if I drop down to 800x600 from 1024 it's ugly and jagged edges like crazy.

We are so spoiled.

I play better at 800x600 than I do at higher resolutions. I have a fast computer, so that's not the problem. I'm one of the weird people that get motion sick playing some games. Larger resolutions make it worse. It's bearable at 800x600, so that's where I play.
