Is anyone else excited to see the X3210 chips

MOst are not aware of this but this is a Quad core Xeon sckt 775 chip...It will go right into our current C2D mobos that can support kentsfields

It is also clocked at 2.13ghz still with a 1066fsb bus....It is supposed to be selling for $690. The X3220 (2.4ghz) is supposed to sell for 885 range which is where the Q6600 is selling as well....So once these start hitting the shelves it will be a nice price.

The other thing is unlike the E6400 2.13ghz dual core part this one has 8mb of cache (4mb per core)

Couple this with the Asus deluxe mobo and I think 3.2ghz is possible....

The only think I am not sure about it whether you can adjust the multipliers up. I doubt it though.

Yeah I TRIED to read that once....way above my knowledge...but I will be staying tune to the results....

I have a deluxe coming.....hoping to get more then 3.2ghz out of my QX6700...plus I got my Coolit Freezone coming as well....Both will be here for the weekend....

Very nice Duvie.

You know where to find me (or Shimmishim) if you need any help with the P5B-D, though i kinda don't think you're gonna need it 😛

I personally have absolutely no interest in the quads right now, since i am doing too little video encoding these days to make any use of an extra couple cores.

But it's great to see your results. 😀

Then we'll be seeing some nice o/c-ing quadcores w/o having to get a p5b deluxe

That is some heavy reading there. It would seem from the article that the DFI LANPARTY UT ICFX3200-T2R/G already supports independent adjustment of VTT and vGTLref? Granted, that board is not cheap.

sorry this article is above me. but the X3210 sounds cool for the extra cache. Let us know how high this clocks!

On P5B deluxe you do not need to adjust GTL, as quad cores can still hit around 450 fsb. It is the RD600, i975x, 680i that have problems with quadcore.

I hope!!

I am placing the QX6700 on the asus mobo....shite canning the DS3

I am going to replace one of S3 mobos with my 975x DFI infinity board for my E6600. I also placing my 2x x1900's in that board.

So I will have to decide what of the 2 S3 mobos and 1 DS3 mobo I will keep with the E6400. howver if I gte one of these X3210's I wont likely keep any of these boards and perhaps get another deluxe.
