Is anyone else annoyed by Winamp in Win2K

Ive only had this problem in Win2K and only sometimes. What it is, is mp3s don't play INSTANTLY, like they do in Win9x. There's like a 500-1000ms delay, which is really annoying. Anyone know the reason for this? It wasn't always like that .. like a few days ago it was playing instantly again, and then after a reboot it went back to the annoying delay mode! WTF! Anyone have a clue?

Reinstall Winamp, your sounddrivers or both.

I just uninstalled 275 and downloaded/installed 276, didn't have any effect.

Get this though, if I select 2+ mp3s and play them at the same time (one goes no the playlist), it plays it RIGHT !@#$ing away! Why?

And why should I have to reinstall my sound drivers? They are WORKING perfectly ..

I don't see how it's a Winamp problem either, I mean, it *works* fine, but why does it have that tiny delay for no reason, ONLY when I select one file to play? That's so bloody stupid and annoying!

It's not whaat ya think. My system isn't underpowered to play mp3s.. I play mp3s while playing UT, Quake III, HL, SC, whatever.. and it's fine. It used to play instantly like it's supposed to, but it's turned stupid on me and is not cooperating! And it's not any settings or anything cause I never touched it + I've reinstalled it. And this is a clean install of 2K also.

Could it be bad sectors? Fragmented drive? Conflict in the sound drivers? Is there only lag when opening the files, or is there also lag when seeking through the files?

Paulson, why are you listening to mp3s on a server? Servers are supposed to serve, not entertain
