everyone IS betting on smarty jones, there is so little money coming in against smarty jones that the payoff rate is awful

i thought it was opposite...it obviously wouldnt be the first time ive been wrong. the odds on favorite pays little while the underdogs offer huge payouts.

but granted, i know nothing about betting on the ponies.
 
IF 100 people bet $100 each on SJ, and he loses, while 1 person bets $100 on a 50-1 underdog that wins, there's plenty of money to pay the winner, plus a nice profit for the sports book. The more people bet on the fav drops the payout, while increasing the underdogs payout.

He's taking all the money so that means bet against him BIG TIME!!!!!

put him in a tri or super.

But if you want any money you'll keep him out of your other bets. He's a great horse and I hope he wins it.

But I'm in it for the money and the only bets he'll be in are my tri's and supers.

Definitely. The Eagles blew it the last 3 years (?), the Flyers blew it, St. Joseph's blew it... I don't think a Philadelphia sports team has won a major sport championship since the 70s. Nothing good can come out of that city. 🙂

I don't see anyway smarty could actually lose this race. But then again the belmont has stopped many before him.
