Is anyone actually excited that Trump will be next president?

Someone must be. After all, Donald J. Trump managed to best all 130 people running to be the champion, the savior of the GOP and now... nothing but silence from those stalwart defenders of Making American Great For Cheap Baseball Caps Again...

um, buyers remorse, is it?

I'd be excited. Simply because the only way it could possibly happen would be that Hillary was arrested and jailed for some bit of sleazeball corruption that was finally a step too far (for a politician that is).

Of course the downside would mean Trump would be prez. Which really would mean Pence would be the acting prez.

Excited?
It doesn't matter.
Moot.
We have two sets of people.
Those that H...A...T...E Hillary's guts and would gladly vote for Adolf Hitler if that meant Hillary would never be president.
And the second set, the people that hate Donald Trump and would never ever vote for Trump.

The thing is..... both sets are ""SET""" in their feelings.
You are never going to change the mind of the Hillary hater, and never will a Trump hater vote for Trump.
So there we are.

The BIG question, are their more Hillary haters than Trump haters out there?
50/50? 60/40?
We won't know till election day.

The way I look at it, Trump and Hillary still have two months to screw it up.
Neither will gain any new support at this stage of the game.
Trump could shoot someone on 7th avenue and Trump supporters would remain loyal.
Hillary emails could show she shot JFK, and Hillary supporters would stay loyal to her.

What bothers me is Trump does have this weird support from people you'd never expect as a Trump supporter. Middle class educated people with families, good jobs, kids, healthy 401K's, newer homes, and driving newer cars. Yet they hate Hillary soooooo much, they would risk it all, gamble away the farm, toss the baby out with the bath water, only because THEY HATE HILLARY CLINTON.

The logic makes no sense.
You would think they would want the best future for their kids, at least.
You would think they realize their lives are not that bad under the current democrat, especially compared to their life under former GW Bush.
And under Hillary, grandma can pretty much guarantee her social security will be safe and secure for the next 4 years. Not the case under Donald Trump, who fully supports Paul Ryan's SS privatization plan. Not to mention the vouchering of our current Medicare system.
What in the hell is grandma thinking?
And what the hell are grandma's kids that support Trump, thinking?
Do Trump supporters really want crazy old grandma living with them in their home after grammy loses her social security checks under a Trump-Ryan administration?

None of this makes any sense.
I just go by the facts and statics from Clinton history.
Hillary, as senator, was liked and worked well with her republican counterparts.
Even self proclaimed drag queen Rudy Giuliani has said he worked well with and respected Hillary as senator Hillary.
And Hillary only gained more love as senator, where she was easily re-elected NY senator.
So all the Hillary demonizing seems a bit overblown, to say the least.
But still, that Hillary hate continues on and there are people that simply will not be convinced otherwise.

And what is really disturbing, the Clinton foundation has saved A LOT of lives providing HIV drugs and healthcare to people in third world countries. Actually saving lives.
Yet republicans and Hillary haters think NOTHING nor care one iota about risking that life saving help from the Clinton Foundation to millions suffering. They are willing to stop the life saving support by making some hateful accusation against the Clinton Foundation.
They care not what the foundation has done for millions suffering.
Damn them to hell, just so long as Trump people can take a blow against Hillary.

So I don't know....
I do know, Donald Trump is undoubtedly the worse lier to ever come along.
He is exactly what he is, a reality TV show host. Nothing more, nothing less.
He is proven not one iota, is dependable not one iota, is trustworthy not one iota.
Trump believes in Donald Trump and only in Donald Trump.
He won't release his taxes, won't explain his shady relationship with the Soviets, won't explain why his merchandise is manufactured offshore, Donald believes he does not have to explain anything to anyone...

Yet, millions of educated middle class Americans will vote for Donald Trump, and their jobs, their welfare, their security, their futures, their kids and their families be damned.

Excited? Not even close. I still can't believe these two candidates are our choices. I find them both despicable, but for different reasons. I think we're gonna find out just how many other assholes are out there, come election day. I don't see Clinton as the lock that my democrat friends do. Something is boiling under the surface. I still think the people are going to choose to vote against the status quo.

I'm looking back on the primaries and have asked myself, was there anyone I would vote for, had they been the nominee, other than who we have now. I can't say there is. Politics have become so dirty that good people don't want to step to the plate.

Hmmm, Trump seems to be relaxing his illegal immigrant deportation promise. That could back fire big time on him.

I am disliking Trump a lot, but I would be "excited" if he got elected, like some kid who throws a giant firecracker into some abandoned car, house etc...and then runs back hiding to watch the explosion. That kind of excited.

Same here. Not happy with any of the choices.

This is correct although, for the sake of sanity, I am still giving Clinton a slight edge.
But there is another reason I am more "excited" when Clinton wins.

I have never seen more vile, primitive and unpleasant people than a lot of Trump supporters. Those are people I would want to avoid when I see them on the street. (Mind you, this is not a generalization, there are also "normal" Trump supporters).

And I'd need to lie saying I won't get satisfaction when Trump loses because of those vile people. I also don't think a nation would have a future if proles rule it, which would essentially happen if Trump wins.

What's there to be excited about? He just reversed his primary signature policy position on immigration. Lol!

I've never seen a politician whose principals and policies were so fluid in their positions. You can ask ten trump supporters what trump's positions are and you'll get ten different answers.

I cannot wait till trump supporters lose their shit when trump loses or if he somehow wins, I can't wait to see their reaction when he doesn't do what he claims he will do. Hell, Glen beck had a caller on his show threaten to "take care of trump" if he doesn't follow through on his promises and no, they weren't talking about options like impeachment.

I saw that and my first thought was that now Trump has a new product he can sell his rubes: Trump Waffles!

Once they fail they can be tossed onto the heap of Trump fails, like Trump Steaks.

I agree. The videos usually show just white rednecks and trailer park trash at Trump rallies and you expect them to act like that. Dems who are looking down their noses at these people should not lower themselves to that level.

Policy doesn't really matter to Trumpists. Personality matters & they just love this flaming asshole named Donald. It's a leader cult thing.

Like he said- he could shoot somebody & it wouldn't matter. Hell, they might even cheer, depending on the victim.

More like I am happy Clinton would not be president. Too much at stake with the Supreme Court to let that evil witch be in charge.

If Trump wins I honestly think that the Republican controlled congress with give him a hard time and not roll over like that have with obama and will certainly do with hillary.

Maybe congress will snap back into it and remember how our government is supposed to work with the three separate branches.

Wait what? You think the Republican congress has 'rolled over' for Obama? The most recent Republican controlled congresses have enacted less legislation than any Congress in all of US history if I'm not mistaken. If you consider even that to be rolling over I can't possibly imagine what not rolling over would look like other than simply an end to any attempt at governance.

Me? No. I simply feel that the left has reached hubristic levels of arrogance, at least culturally, and their bullshit needs to go.

So I will shed no tears if that establishment implodes.

As someone who considers themselves on the left, I can understand how someone on the right might feel that way, as I do feel a sense of intellectual superiority over them. It is difficult not to when you come to a debate armed with facts and reasoned analysis, and are up against someone willfully cloaked in ignorance. Two opinions are not deserving of equal consideration if one is backed by facts and the other is not, even if many people share the opinion that is not supported by facts.

Take the recent payment to Iran coinciding with the release of the 4 Americans for example. The money we owed Iran stems from an outstanding debt for undelivered military equipment from before the Iranian revolution. We were going to have to pay this money eventually, so we negotiated a settlement as part of the recently passed Iranian nuclear deal. Whether you agree with that deal or not is beside the point. Our government decided to leverage a cash delivery from that deal, that was going to be paid to Iran regardless, to ensure the release of these prisoners. This is FACT, not opinion, yet the whole right wing media sphere decides to call it ransom, knowing that their base will believe it because they WANT to believe it. Do people on the right like being lied to, or are they just ill-informed stooges of right wing propaganda outfits because they are duped so easily? This is the kind of shit that drives moderates on the left crazy, and makes us look down our noses at many on the right. Sure, the left has it's crazies, but they are marginalized within the movement, and have no major media outlets willing to indulge their illusions. The right has let the crazies take over the movement, and you are all suffering for it.

I've been attacked for saying this here before, but I'll say it again. That good person in the primaries was Marco Rubio. But the RWNJ base chose Trump because they wanted all the people who have names like Rubio's to be deported. Instead, all they got was a con man.
As for what's boiling under the surface.. sure, there's a lot of discontented people out there, but how many of them want to wake up on November 9th to the same kind of market crash like the Brits saw the day after Brexit? I guess we'll find out.

You mean the guy who told the world that he bought himself a gun on Christmas Eve so that he could protect his family from the Terrarists!?

Yeh, sure, I know it's Florida & it's Republicans but... sweet freaking Jebsu... that's some kind of cosmic facepalm.

He wasn't ready for prime time anyway. Trump put him away like an 18 wheeler running over a snake on the highway.
