The 5 in one night definition of binge drinking always made me laugh. Five drinks for a 100lbs woman is a lot different than 5 drinks for a 200+lbs guy. One is drunk, the other was just rather thirsty during dinner.

Beer doesnt mess me up anymore and i can down 12-15 in a given night but liquer gets me going pretty nicely

Wow, 5-6 a day seems like a lot to me. Do you have a steady job? I always assumed that I drink a pretty good amount, but I usually tend to either have 1 drink before bed on most nights of the week, or have 2-3 drinks one or two nights of the week or just not drink at all depending on my sleep schedule, my social schedule, etc. Are you unhappy if you don't drink?

this is a popular misconception. i mean sure, getting blasted out of your mind is about total escapsim, but 3 drinks a night isn't so much escapism as it is a method to slow yourself down and experience reality in bite size chunks.

If you're talking about beer, remember that beer comes in different strengths, too. In my state domestic beer is 3.2% alcohol - but in some places it's as much as 6%, and I've had premium beers with as much as 9%. 6 Shiner Bocks will get you a whole lot drunker than 6 Bud Lights will.
