I've tolerated him I suppose up until now. The act of hoisting the cup as a non-member of the team is a damn travesty to the cup. Touching it is okay, but hoisting it is just terrible. He even managed to photobomb Duncan Keith's family....

Why are the Blackhawk's allowing this? Why does Chicago allow this? Am I alone in this?

I'm pretty sure the majority of people in Chicago (Earth) have him in the just die already category.

I don't know. Neither myself nor my parents when I was younger allowed them to withdraw blood from my body to test it. It is unnatural and I do not take defying nature lightly.

I have been part of many non-players holding the cup up. Are you just aware of this on national video now and really mad?

Even more of a travesty was that one doofus who put his newborn in the cup with noise cancelling headphones crushing its head.

Actually all the odd facial expressions make that image kinda creepy, reminds me of Understanding Joshua

I never knew that people had that much disrespect for the tradition until Jim did it on TV.

Where were you when you hoisted the cup? What team had it? Did you also kiss it?

And yes I'm pretty upset that he did that.

They can do what they want with the cup as long as they preserve it. It's his right as a Stanley Cup Champion.

Also the noise cancelling headphones are designed for babies, if you need to take your baby somewhere that is loud, its absolutely necessary to have them equipped with them, otherwise you risk irreparable hearing loss...

What an awesome soup tureen. It definitely was not designed or originally derived from a punch bowl, it's far too small for that. I disagree with the historians on that point. The infant barely even fits in it to prove it. That would be one small party with a punch bowl that small for it.

And it is one ugly trophy. The way they add on to it year after year, and then take a lower ring off when it's full, is wacky and tacky. Why not just hand out a new silver soup tureen every year, with a nice base on it that don't look like a silver oil drum?

And as far as touching or raising it goes, was the guy who actually made this replica from Chicago? I'm also guessing nobody from Chicago made the original, either. But I bet whoever made it must have touched it and raised it up a lot. And I bet they touched it in loving ways you can only dream about touching it.

By the way, look at the REAL trophy behind the soup tureen of the first winning team on that wiki link, THAT'S WHAT A TROPHY SHOULD LOOK LIKE!

Even this one was better in the 1940's:

Sometimes when I watch fights a hockey game breaks out.

Being operated on is unnatural as well, I hope you remember that if you are ever in a bad accident.

Nature will do with me as it will. I will not defy it and anger nature further. The debt must be paid.

Dennis Leary for Boston.... that's pretty bad. He completely stole Bill Hick's schtick a non-relative, and only really got away with it because he died of cancer, at least Jim Belushi only used his brother's....

Boston might win, but was he invited onto the rink for the 2011 stanley cup victory and lift the cup? Still both are bad city icons.

hockey seems like the last sport where there is supposed to be some sort of formal tradition with celebration like in The Masters lol
