Nvidia never had anything compelling when I was in the market.

  • The 9600/9800 series crushed the FX series
  • My next upgrade was still on AGP and NV with a few far between exceptions stopped making AGP cards after the 6800 series so I went X1950Pro
  • The HD5870 was faster cheaper and more advanced than anything NV had at the time.
  • The HD7970 GHZ edition was faster than the GTX 680 and quite frankly can still play games like Doom Eternal today at 1080P low.
  • Vega was a bit of a miss but I was buying the last time crypto destroyed the GPU market - it was the only card I successfully purchased (went out of stock in 10 minutes)

I’ve got $500 in credit at Newegg and still can’t buy anything faster than a 1660. Maybe next round.
Yeah, there were times when I wanted to go with ATi/AMD when they had better performance or didn't sound like a Dust Buster (5800/5900 NV series).
But that driver experience haunted me. Seems like they are much better now, after having a few glitches with the new Chinese driver development team.

I have been a reader since 2003. Honestly, it feels like Anandtech's quality is dropping off and it is increasingly becoming a mouth piece for Intel?

Where are the hard hitting reviews that used to be done? Hard hitting opinions?

Anytime I open up this website, more often than not it is some Intel news hitting my eyes.

I am really disappointed.
I posted in P&N! :D

I couldn't pass up the chance to say a self-claimed "reader since 2003" didn't read enough to notice Anand hasn't been part of the website since he sold Anandtech all those years ago. You'd think if you liked Anand's "hard hitting opinions" so much, you'd notice when they stopped.

Though I grew up with Heathkit and IBM computers in the late 70s through 80s that my dad bought, this was the first computer I bought when I got my first apartment off base in the army:

Except mine had a giant 17 inch screen upgrade.

Anandtech tends to soft pitch its Intel interviews but the endless onslaught from the whiny little pussy ass bitch AMD fanboys in the comments more than cancels that out. Anandtech can run a pure Apple article or interview someone from a company that has nothing to do with Intel or AMD and along comes the incel brigade to insert a bunch of AMD vs Intel bullshit in the comments.
Actually, AnandTech has of late been giving fairly unfavorable reviews to Intel (started with Skylake) by limiting RAM to JDEC specs. Overall though, the I cant fault the site itself as being biased. The forums OTOH, ...... well, it certainly is clear that they, to put it mildly, *are not* pro Intel.

I've been a life long Intel fan. AMD has never been my cup of tea.

Has he sold his shares in the business?
I was well aware he has left...but assume he still has a shareholding.

Who is the current shareholder?

I think I went exclusively AMD for a whole decade back during the Slot A/Socket A/754/AM2 years and avoided Netburst entirely. I switched back to Intel when I stopped building PCs and bought an off the shelf Dell Core 2 Duo off some slickdeal.

I really could care less what Anandtech reviews or what they slant towards. Anandtech is always one of my go to sites to learn about the new CPU, GPU and computer hardware tech coming out over the years. I have no tribal allegiance to either AMD or Intel even though I never built with anything other than Intel and Nvidia. Computers are just a hobby to me ever since I got my first Quantex Pentium 133 and started playing Quake 1 and 2 and messing with the console commands and fine tuning the graphics, my dial up modem and such. I was hooked. Over the years, when i built for family, friends and trusted acquaintances, I always "went with what I know". What I knew how to configure BIOS wise and how what hardware worked well together. Intel and Nvidia were always the top performers over the last decades. Now that has changed and it's fucking awesome. I really can't wait to try an AMD based computer, even if it's not a gaming box. But now is not the time unless I pay out the ass for the hardware.

GPU reviews on Anandtech?

Did they use to do those or something? ;) :p

Worked didn't it? Got the 14 yr lurker/whiner to post for the 11th time! Yay! Awesome contributor! :D
So, you have to be active on the board, and not just a reader to have a legitimate concern? That's like saying the shy kid, who never talks, has no right to talk because they are shy and never talk. Kind of childish, don't you think? Some people (see my post count in 20 years), just don't post stuff until they feel it's important enough to speak up. Anyone can have a high post count posting bullshit that means nothing.

The Death Star hasn't blown up HIS planet. What's the big deal about it anyway?
Its
1. Sticking to one brand, loyal till death no matter what and
2. Running on feels. AMD is currently faster cooler better, but, he dont feel it.

As I keep saying. Late stone age.

Thanks for proving my point, and confirming my last statement, I added as you posted this.. Post count means nothing when you just post BS that means nothing.
