Is an X300 pci-e video card fast enough for Windows MCE 2005?

I was using MCE with a Ti4200 card with 64MB memory and it appeared ok. With this new pc and X300 video card I expected better. Would a better video card make any difference?
I occasionally get image ripples and other quality issues.

BTW, I'm using the Hauppauge PVR 150.

An X300 is a card I can't believe even has a market. I would buy a better card just on general principle 😛.

I thought the same thing, then I needed a cheap video card for my girlfriend's computer that I built. She wasn't going to do much gaming and I needed a PCI-E card, so I went with that. Yeah well I'll cut to the chase... I ended up installing CS:S and the Battlefield 2 demo and it worked suprisingly well. It definitely held its own in CS:S at 1024 x 768 with the details on high - no AA or AF, though, and did a fine job in the BF2 demo. BF2 was on the lowest settings in 800 x 600, but for what... $45? The X300 PCI-E card is more than a reasonable card.

I remember getting 3DMarks2001 scores of 11k+ with my Ti4200 on a Barton OC'd to 2.2GHz.

With this new 3K+ Venice and Epox board using 1GB (2x512) of cheap PNY PC2700 and this card I tested at 10K. I play at 1024x786 and I'm content. I just may overclock it to see if I can improve the frame rate.
