Is an hour and a half enough time between flights for international connections?

On the way to Italy I'll have about 2 hours & 30 minutes between flights, so I'm not worried about that.. but is an hour and a half enough time between flights coming back home?

The return flight I'm looking at is from Florence --> Frankfurt, Germany---> Philadelphia ---> Home.
At Germany, I'll have exactly 90 minutes to catch my next flight if everything is on time. Think that will be OK, or should I keep searching?

How about 2 hours? More?

If you're booking yourself, no, that's not enough time. If you're booking through a travel agent, it's their head :p

I am booking it myself.. how much time do you think is enough? It's hard to find a decent flight.. this one almost seems like it's perfect execpt that it may not be enough time. I found some that have friggin 9 hour connection times!

Factor in the hours recommended that you be at the airport before your flight + possible delay times

If you stay in the security checked area it should be fine. I you have to go through screening again then 2 hours. My parents flight was late getting back from europe last year. They arrived in San Fransico ten minutes before their connecting flight and the staff ran them to the waiting plane. Odd thing was my dad had some wine in two litre bottles packed in his carry on. Three bottles in a row, looked like a friggen bomb! No problem.

I think it should be enough time.

It just depends on whether you are changing terminals or not.

if you don't have to leave the security area/change terminals, you should be fine. It's a little too close for me, though. I'd want at least 2 hours.

A co-worker of mine went to Italy this week(I think) His flight was leaving Friday(yes, the day after the massive terrorist plot). He was supposed to have a lay over in London. I'm sure he actually made the fight and is enjoying the old country.

Have to wait till he gets back to see how the probing went :p

Well I booked a flight... 2.5hrs to 3.5hrs between flights.. I don't think it should be a problem. I'm also avoiding flying in and out of London.. I don't know if that will matter in 3 months from now but who knows.

30 minutes is enough if you don't have to go through security, and nothing goes wrong. After all...HYPOTHETICALLY, all you need to do is change gates.

And then there's the real world. An hour and a half is a tight squeeze, but it's doable.
