is an H81 board good for i5 4570?

It's more than enough for a non-overclocked i5. Go for it.

Yeah, should work and perform fine.

Main reasons to get a more expensive chipset is more memoryslots, sli/crossfire ability, or other extras that they don't put on budget boards, like better audio chip, wifi etc.

I run a H81 system myself, pentium g3258 cpu and a gtx670, no complaints.

Its fine. The only thing is that you'll be limited to PCIe 2.0 for the 16x slot. But the performance impact is minimal at worst.

I have that board too. If you already have the board up and running right now, you might consider updating the BIOS to a new version so that you can install an i5-4590 instead of the i5-4570, as it gives you 100MHz more clockspeed for the same price.

Eh, well I already ordered the 4570 off of ebay so whatever. Clock rate isn't a big thing for me if the CPU is already powerful enough :D

WELL TIME FOR AN UPDATE

After looking at the motherboard I decided to take the cpu cover off, and I discovered the pins were slightly bent. I know they're supposed to be bent a certain way but the light shining off shows that they're out of place. What do I use to realign them? I'm kinda freaking out here and I don't want to wait until my CPU comes in Thursday if I can fix this now

So I tried to bend the pins back, but I'm unsure if it'll work, do they have to be bent back perfectly or at least the same direction?

could see if it still works once you get the cpu.

Nah, i'm gonna send it back, better safe then sorry.

Or well I guess i'll just issue an RMA, if the CPU does work i'll keep it, if it doesn't I'll send the board back.
