Is an Expensive Laser/Optical Mouse Worth It?

Howdy,
Is an expensive laser/optical mouse like the Logitech MX-1000 worth it?

I've got a cheap $35 Logitech laser mouse from a few years ago.

I don't need wireless, wired is fine, but I've seen some $60 wired mouses (mice?).

Your recommendations are welcome.

Cheers,
PCM

Depends on what you are doing with the mouse. If you are just using your optical for notmal desktop use, you won't see much of a difference unless you have a really large, high resolution screen (like a Dell 2405FPW) and need the extra accuracy. Where the expensive mice really benefit you is with gaming (especially FPS games like Counterstrkie), or in apps that require great precision such as Photoshop retouching or 3D modeling with Maya or 3ds MAX. It all comes down to your individual needs.

If you do image retouching and other similar work such as with PhotoShop or similar programs, the mouse hasn't been born yet that can approach the intuitive precision of a Wacom Intuos pad and stylus.

Once you get a good tablet you'll never go back.

I've got a logitech mx500 which wasn't a "cheap" mouse (tho I did get a sweet deal on it 😀) but it wasn't super expensive either. It is very accurate too
