Is an ASPI layer usefull for DVD burning?

I noticed by running aspichk.exe from Adaptec that my windows XP computer does not possess an ASPI layer.

Is this something that would be beneficial for DVD burning or not?

If yes, which one would be more recommended? Adaptec's or Nero's NeroASPIen.exe?

In case it matters, my drive is a LG GSA-4120B

Depends on what burning software you use. Most don't need an ASPI layer. Easy CD Creator used to, but I'm not sure about newer versions. Nero definately doesn't.
