Is an Amp for a car REALLY that hard to install?

All of my friends are always talking about how hard it is to install amps, and to always have it professionally done. After looking at this website: http://www.caraudiohelp.com/how_to_install_a_car_amp/how_to_install_a_car_amp.htm, it doesn't look THAT hard. I'm buying a new CD-player and speakers for my car this summer, but I was planning on having the amp installed for me. Now, I don't know much about amps, but after reading that webpage, do you think it would be hard for someone to install if they have never installed one before?

My first amp install was done on a 88 chevy cavalier and it took about an hour. Hardest part for me was getting the deck out without disconnecting already connected wires.

Power wire runs down one side of the car while the remote and rca wires run down the other side.

I think the major problem would be running the wires..

but other than that .. it seems pretty straight forward... that is unless you already have stock amps in your car.

Famous last words.

In my case, I'm not very mechanically inclined so I had my amp and speakers installed for me. I don't regret it, it was done right and I did other things while it was being installed.

depends on what you're driving with the amp.

if it's (a) sub(s), then it's just power, deck signal [blue], and source and that's about it. probably take you like an hour.
