Hi Everyone,

I've purchased a new microprocessor and I need to buy a motherboard for it. However, I have a AGP 4x/8x graphics card (ATI RADEON 9600 Pro). My question is, can I plug it into a PCI Express 16x slot? The new technology motherboards come with those PCI Express slots. I have been searching this on the web for couple of hours but couldn't find any answer. Thanks a lot for the answer.

The answer is no, you can not use an AGP card in that slot. They are not compatable

Thanks for the answers guys. Alright then here is another question. The micoprocessor that I've purchases is an Intel P4 530 3.0GHz which requires an Socket T connection with the motherboard. Can you recommend me a good motherboard has socket T connection + AGP 8x + low price:))?

Here's a nice one for 115 bucks. If you don't mind spending a bit more money (and I know you said low price, but what the hell) this is a good one too, but for 168.

Another thing is I am not sure if my processor (P4 530 3.0GHz LGA 775) is compatable with the chipset i875P + ICH5R. Is there a motherboard that has 915P chipset + AGP 8x/4x features? Thanks a lot for the replies I really appreciate.
