Can anyone tell me the difference, if any, between the Abit IC7-G and the IC7-G MAXII Advanced? The IC7-G link at Abit's site goes to the MAX2 Advance, (you have to click the "IC7-G" link on that page), yet there are two separate listings at pricewatch with the "IC7-G MAXII Advance" being MORE than the "IC7-G".

Thanks for any info.

The MAX ones have the PS/2 connectors removed just to be different -- pay more, get less.

Irregardless of what Pricewatch shows, the IC7-G and the IC7-G "Max II" are the same boards. When they 1st came out some boxes just said IC7G, other IC7-G Max-II but the boards are the same and have PS2 ports.
The IC7-G "Max-III" is a newer version which supposedly removes the legacy PS2 ports and the parallel and serial ports and is also supposed to have 6 SATA connectors. Where the PS2 ports would be is an intake fan with a plastic housing attached which runs along the top of the mainboard cooling the mosfets/capacitors

Yes, that I know. The MAXIII has that cooling "thing" on it, plus it PUTS BACK the PS/2 ports, but I Can't recall if it puts back the parallel and serial ports though.

Thanks Dave. Now I seem to remember that from the website that discussed the MAXIII. So then I wonder why the Abit site has the MAXII Advanced showing for the IC7-G? This is REALLY confusing because in the specs for the IC-7 G MAXII Advanced, they show it having PS/2 ports, and the parallel and serial ports! I'm wondering if that "IC7-G MAXII Advanced" title they have on that page is wrong? Link.

Hey, got lucky and found the link for the MAX3. Now that page as I read it again, says the MAXII DOES have the PS/2 ports! I guess they mean (and you) that the MAX did not have the ports, but the MAXII DID have them. ? I also see on the page the MAX3 does not have the serial and parallel ports.
