Is American Express a good card to get?

I already have a few credit cards, but AMEX sent me an offer for one of their charge cards combined with the Southwest Airlines reward card program. I've never had an AMEX. What are the advantages of this card? Any opinions?
 
Amex sucks, a lot of places don't accept em. Sam's Club, Safeway, a bunch of other I can't think of offhand.

I've had mine for 3 years and am going to cancel soon.
