*Warning*

Overarching generalization (that's probably true).

*warning*

Given: Smart people don't have a lot of children, say 1 or 2 per family. They know that children make them poorer so they choose not to have lots of kids.

Given: Stupid people have lots of kids because they suck at financial planning.

Then: Stupid people will have a much higher rate of reproduction than smart people. This then drives down the overall IQ of the nation.

Based on your posts so far, I am going to guess you are from the large family of stupid people. Please stop posting and have no children.

America is not getting stupider, but its growth of intelligence is definitely slowing down. Just look at the economy and the education system.

Based on the OP's other threads, I'll wager he's from a family of stupid people. How many siblings do you have, OP?

Agreed, the movie was hilarious but I think it's unrealistic in that it ignored genetic mutation (and that some regions are becoming smarter on average).

Keep the H1B visas open. These smart immigrants will continue to bail out this country through their innovation and hard work.

It's apparently a subjective topic...
Webster doesn't accept it but dictionary.com does.
Who knows (although I've been taught it isn't)?... It also goes against the "two syllable = more" rule.

Given the OP, I'm gonna guess that you just watched Idiocracy...there you go, take the advice of someone who made a cartoon called Beavis and Butthead...

I never saw it before or even heard of it until your post. Sounds like an interesting movie.

dictionary.com is made of stupid. The proper and definitive source to look up words is m-w.com, aka Merriam-Webster.

Am I incorrect since I didn't write "Merriam-"? I always referred to it as Webster... Hmm..

They've been Merriam-Webster since 1983.

Well then if you use "more stupid" you have the problem of whether "more" is qualifying "stupid" as a noun or as an adjective. "Stupider" at least makes it clear that it's an adjective.
