Is AMD lowering prices soon ?

I read an article about that too. Not sure the extent of the price drop, but the article I read made note of that fact that they are lowering the prices the day after Intel

I've heard from a local shop that they, and most of the places on pricewatch, have already taken into account the effective AMD price cuts. The current low prices are already reflecting the anticipated drop.

i think i read that march 4th 5th or 6th, intel will cut prices first, then the following day amd will.. prolly on monday.. not 100% sure tho

I can confirm that AMD will announce a price drop on March 5th. However, I don't have any info regarding which specific chips or the amounts involved.

I read a few weeks ago on March 5th, the will announce the 1.3gig Tbird and lower prices by 10% average over the family.

Interesting. Just to add more fuel, PC Progress has had a cpu pricing change on at least some of the Athlon's. I ordered a 1.2 ghz 266FSb about a week ago for $294. It was backordered - still waiting. Checked today and the price is now $254. I'll be calling em Monday for the new price.

I believe they have already dropped quite alot. The 1.2ghz was $275 about a week and a half ago. Now it is $236 on price watch. Man that is unbelievable.
