It's a great movie. I don't think it's at all a chick flick. It's more about the peculiarities of all the characters, and not about some cheesy romance. It's one of the better movies I think I've ever seen.

if you want another movie by the same person that's not so much of a chick flick (much much darker), try City of Lost Children. i thought it was better than Amelie

its not a chick flick, but I wouldnt play it for a movie night. Movie night calls for some action movie that both guys and girls will enjoy. Not that guys wouldnt enjoy Amelie.

It's a modern classic, it's not some Freddie Prinze Jr. tripe. I think it's insulting to the film to call it a chick flick.

Great movie. Kind of falls in to the gray area as far as chick flicks are concerned. It's much more beneficial if you do watch it with your/a woman tho...
