Is all RAID the same?

I currently have a raid 0 for my drives and I am thinking about upgrading my system. Right now I am running on a NForce4 board. If i get a new MB can I plug the drives in and configure them for raid and still have them work? or is there something specific that the controller does that will require me to rebuild the array?

 
Each RAID controller is different, and often use different chipsets. Honestly, chances are very slim that it would work properly.
